Session Info

What to Expect:

Children's Sessions

I love kids and like to keep the portrait session fun and relaxed. I'll take a little time to let your child get to know me before pointing a camera at them. I try not to direct children too much, but interact with them to induce natural, happy smiles (not cheesy smiles). The session will probably last about an hour, but please schedule extra time for breaks if needed.

Newborn Sessions

Please plan to feed your baby either right before coming to the session, or when you first arrive at the session. I've scheduled plenty of time for us (2 hours), so please don't feel rushed if the baby gets fussy. We need for your child to be in a deep sleep, so a full tummy is best. Bring favorite blankets, fun hats or booties.

High School Seniors

I have such fun photographing high school seniors.  I try to customize each senior session, so we'll definitely need to chat before the session to discuss location, props and clothing changes.

Bring another senior for a Love Story or BFF session and you’ll both enjoy significant savings along with fun photos of the two of you together.

Family Sessions

Family sessions can be held either at your home or any public location. Luckily we have plenty of lovely parks and natural areas to use.  We should chat before your session.  At this time we can discuss location, clothing and your image presentation needs. I want all of your questions and concerns addressed before the session so you can relax and have fun with your kids, while I capture those precious moments together.

What to Wear

I can't emphasize how important clothing choice is. Matching the clothing to the environment is key to a cohesive image.  We will discuss this fully in the pre-session consultation when I will be able to guide you based on the location we choose, your personal style and home decor.

For park sessions, classical clothing is best. Khakis, jeans, solid colored or madras shirts are best for boys. Girls should wear sun dresses, skirts or jeans with simple shirts. Floral or plaid clothing is fine, but keep it simple and classical. Pastels in Spring or Summer, and mid-tones in Fall work best. Decaled clothing is not ideal for park sessions.

For urban sessions, jeans and modern, bright clothing work great. Lots of texture, color and layers make the urban images fun and contemporary. Decaled clothing is fine. Bring plenty of jackets, scarves, hats and caps to play with.

Show & Shop Appointment

A slideshow of your finished images will be presented to you during your scheduled Show & Shop appointment.  At this time you'll get to shop with your product credit.  I will guide you through your choices of beautiful, heirloom products I offer and together we'll choose the ideal products for your home.   I offer high-quality, archival prints and products in a variety of sizes to suit every client's needs.
